Question: Why is the Singapore Government adamant in refusing to sign an international treaty that protects adopted children?

Singapore has barred British nationals from adopting children here, reported local newspaper The Sunday Times.
The report said this is believed to be the first time citizens from any particular country are not allowed to adopt in Singapore.
